La Estancia

Time has been flying here in Argentina…here’s a throwback to Monday’s Estancia Don Silvano visit!

We were welcomed with empanadas and jumped onto a horse carriage to take a tour of the estancia. The farm hosts roosters, chickens, ducks, pigs, otters, huanacos, ñandúes, and more. We utilized the open space to play some games to learn names, and discovered some very talented Ninja players within the group.

Lunch was a first taste of a multi-course meal full of meats. We enjoyed salads, fries, sausage, grilled chicken, steak, flan with dulce de leche, and coffee. Live entertainers played guitar and sang folkloric music, danced traditional dances, and pulled our students up to learn to dance tango. With full stomachs, we walked to the horse arena and settled in for a gaucho show. Galloping to lance the rings was impressive and we all cheered when Otis kissed the horse!

Making our way back into the city, we explored Plaza de Mayo, Puerto Madero, and the Puente de la Mujer. The next morning we were up early to fly to El Calafate…more to come about that later!
